PURPOSE:To prevent the interference between a paper sheet and a gate before and after carrying passage switching by generating a command for minimizing the moving distance of a carrying passage during gate operation in a device in which the carrying designation of a carrying material is distributed and switched by the gate. CONSTITUTION:In a bill paying device, bills 2 set in a cassette 1 are separated one by one and sent to a carrying passage 5 by a feed roller 3 and a pinch roller 4, and in the course, the bill carrying state is detected by a judging part 8. When a superposed carrying is detected, then, the bill is carried out to a reject box 10 by switching a reject gate 9. When a bill B judged abnormal reached a carrying passage decelerating timing 12, deceleration command is given to a carrying motor 6 to reduce the carrying speed to the lowest speed by sluicing. This sluicing is ended when the bill B reaches a gate operating timing 13, and the reject gate 9 is then switched. |
