METHOD FOR DRIVING INK JET HEAD

PURPOSE:To increase the jet speed of an ink droplet by generating a large pressure change by applying a main pulse at the time of the peak of a residual pressure wave noticing the residual pressure wave generated accompanying the displacement of a piezoelectric element. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric element is changed by a drive pulse shown by (a) and the volumetric contraction of a passage is generated and a generated pressure wave reaches the wall surface of the passage or a vibration plate to become a residual pressure wave shown by (b). This pressure wave also exterts effect on a meniscus to become a form reversed in phase as shown by (c). By applying a main driving pulse at the time of the peak of the residual pressure wave generated by the application of an auxiliary pulse, more large pressure can be applied.
