PURPOSE:To obtain a method for efficiently separating pentafluorochloroethane from a mixture containing pentafluoroethane and the pentafluorochloroethane. CONSTITUTION:The distillation of a mixture containing pentafluoroethane and pentafluorochloroethane is carried out to distill off an azeotropic mixture of the pentafluoroethane with the pentafluorochloroethane. Thereby, the pentafluorochloroethane is separated from the mixture containing the pentafluoroethane and the pentafluorochloroethane.
