PURPOSE:To produce a 1H-perfluoroalkane in good yield under mild conditions by using an industrially readily available substance with hardly any toxicity and danger. CONSTITUTION:A perfluoroalkyl halide is made to react with an acid in the presence of zinc to produce the 1H-perfluoroalkane. In the reaction, all the raw material substances may be collectively charged; however, a method for charging zinc in small portions into a mixture of the perfluoroalkyl halide with the acid and a solvent is preferred from the viewpoint of control over the heat of reaction. Although the reaction is advanced under mild temperature conditions of ambient temperature to about 60 deg.C, the raw material perfluoroalkyl halide having a relatively high molecular weight is preferably allowed to react at >=50 deg.C. |
