The device comprises an insert (3), for example a polycrystalline diamond or nitrocubic boron, presenting an auto-centring form and two half-plates (1 and 2) joined together by a joint (6) which presents equally an auto-centring form. Between the two half-plates is placed the insert (3) and of which the fixing is carried out by a gripping part of a finger (4) of a machine tool (8) activated by spanner.
