PURPOSE: To provide a proof printer capable of obtaining a galley proof near a final printing state. CONSTITUTION: The sheet conveyor emits actinic light for a writing member to form an image. This conveyor comprises a means for supplying a transfer sheet and a recording sheet to a suitable position of a recording platen or drum 18 through an adjustable edge guide to selectively superpose a donor sheet on the recording sheet or to remove it from there without disordering a position of the recording sheet. The conveyor also has a constituent for affecting a quality of a generated image such as a conveying unit 16 having a relatively low cost and low jitter, a write head 20 and a driver for an image forming drum or the like.
