<p>Method and apparatus for recovering resources from discarded tires without polluting the environment. First of all, discarded tires are collected in an tyre-loading unit, which is then conveniently loaded into a hermetic casing with a foldable wheeling system, with the help of a rail in the hermetic casing. The hermetic casing has a wheeling system similar to that of tyre-loading unit so the former is easily wheeled into the heating shell of the heat-treatment unit. The tires inside the heating shell must be completely isolated from the air using hermetic and vacuuming devices before heating is begun. A heat-treatment unit with a heater mounted either externally or internally to the heating shell heats the loaded tires so they decompose in the absence of oxygen; a pollutant-treatment unit filters and purifies the pollutants produced during the heating process, thereby minimizing pollution. The hermetic casing is heated to 450 .degree.C for about 1.5 hours until decomposition of the tires is complete. Afterwards, tar collected in the storage tank can be directly transferred for recycling; black ash and steel wool can be recovered from the frame of the tyre-loading unit. The black ash and steel wool can be easily separated manually for further treatment.</p> |
