PURPOSE:To obtain an image receiving material forming a recording image excellent in light fastness and extremely reduced in fading or discoloration due to light by forming an image receiving layer composed of a resin compsn. containing at least one kind of a phenolic oxidation inhibitor represented by a specific general foremula on the surface of a base material. CONSTITUTION:An image receiving material is constituted by forming an image receiving layer composed of a specific resin compsn. on the surface of a base material. The specific resin compsn. contains at least one kind of a phenolic oxidation inhibitor represented by general formula (wherein R1 and R2 are a 1-20C alkyl group and R3 is H or a 1-3C alkyl group). As the base material, a film or paper is suitable. The image receiving layer receives the sublimable dye transferred from a transfer sheet to develop a color. By this constitution, the image receiving material forming a recording image excellent in light fastness and extremely reduced in fading or discoloration due to light is obtained.
