PURPOSE:To provide a manual brake device by obviating necessity for fixing one end of a locking coil controlled to a specified method, further dispersing a load applied to an elastic coil member to possibly reduce a coil diameter or element wire diameter as a whole, and obviating necessity for a shock absorber of relaxing impact force at release time. CONSTITUTION:A stop mechanism is constituted of a drum 34 pivotally supported to a base side to integrally turn with a brake lever, plurality of shoes 51 arranged with a specified space along the internal periphery so as to come into slide contact with an internal peripheral surface of this drum, plurality of pawls 26 interposed between each shoe to extend from a base so as to impede rotary movement of the shoe, elastic coil member 52 arranged so as to come into elastic contact with the internal peripheral surface of the shoe to stop one end side to the drum with the other end side serving as a play end side and to arrange a winding direction so that direction of returning from a braking condition of the brake lever becomes a direction of spreading the diameter, and a release member 53 of pressing the play end side of this elastic coil member to contract the diameter. |
