<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the subject reflector of improved heat resistance by molding a thermoplastic resin composition comprising a polyphenylene ether resin component, an aromatic vinyl compound (co)polymer component and a block copolymer component. CONSTITUTION:A polyphenylene ether resin (A) comprising repeating units of formulas I and II (wherein R1 to R6 are each alkyl, aryl, halogen or H, provided that R5 and R6 must not be hydrogen atoms at the same time) and having a number-average molecular weight of 1000-100000, a heat distortion temperature of 140 deg.C or below and a retention of tensile strength of 75% when tested in hot water at 120 deg.C for 2000hr is melt-kneaded with a polymer (B) of an aromatic vinyl compound such as styrene or its copolymer and a block copolymer (C) of a number-average molecular weight of 2000-500000 to obtain a thermoplastic resin composition comprising 0-30 pts.wt. component C per 100 pts.wt. in total of 60-100wt.% component A and 0-40wt.% component B. This composition is molded into a reflector of excellent heat resistance.</p> |
