The covering for buttons consists of a cover part (10) and a slide piece in the form of a springy elastic element, preferably spring clip, which has an insertion opening (11) for the neck of the button and which fits into holes in the bottom part of the cover part. The slide piece is closed and opened. The insertion opening extends as far as the centre of the base surface of the cover part, when the slide piece is in a closed position. The slide piece is slid in and out of the cover part by at least two openings (10b,c) on the outer edge (10a) of the cover part. The ends (12a) of the spring clip have catches (12b). USE/ADVANTAGE - The button covering is easily manipulated, protects against loss and has a slide piece which cannot accidentally be separated from the cover part.
