Aq. dispersion comprises (A) a polyester or acid number at least 50 equiv. 10 power (6) g, which contains, as polycarboxylic acid component, an aromatic dicarboxylic acid in a proportion of 70-100 mol% of the acid component of a polyol of formula (I) in an amt. of 30-95 mol.% based on the polyol, a metallic base of a sulphoniz-contg. dicarboxylic acid in amount of 0.01-10 mol% based on the acid component and metallic base of a sulphonic acid contg. polyol in an amt. of 0.01-10 mol% based on the polyol; (B) a water soluble organic cpd. of b.pt. 60-250 deg.C; (C) water; and (D) a neutralisation agent (I), (where R1, R2 = H or CH3; and min not below 1 provided that m+n = 2-6). The amts. are such that (A)/(B)/(C) is 1-70/0-69/9-99 wt.%, (B)/(B)+(C) is 0-0.7 and the acid number of (D) to (A) is 0.1-20. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used as a primer and for films having corrosion and chemical-resistance, workability and appearance etc.
