In plant for producing mouldings from thermoplastic scrap material a plasticating extruder feeds the material directly into moulds through a tube without extra aid. The plan view shows the one extruder feeding four moulds through the supply tube. This tube has a vertical length leading to a second horizontal length which can feed each mould in turn. The vertical part is rotated into each appropriate position, and its second horizontal length includes a flow valve and end nozzle. The horizontal part has a pressure plunger behind it. A system operates the plunger which forces material out of the nozzle. The extruder is fed with scrap film, granulate or mixed thermoplastics and paper. As soon as one mould has been filled from the feed tube, its valve is closed, and the system is turned to the next mould for a repeat of the injection procedure. The complete set of operations is controlled by a computer and its programme, including the opening and demoulding of each successive mould. ADVANTAGE - The process obtd. is economical. It is suitable for moulding mixed plastic scrap or scrap mixed with waste paper. It can produce mouldings up to more than 20 kg wt.
