<p>The present invention relates to an alarm system and method, by analysis of a reception signal originating from a sensor detecting a standing wave regime set up in a vehicle passenger compartment, especially by ultrasonic waves, in such a way as to detect an intrusion into the passenger compartment via the changes in the said standing wave regime.
