A horn switch assembly for use on the steering wheel of a motor vehicle, which horn switch assembly can be activated by pressing on the module cover (16). The horn switch assembly is attached to the bottom of the air bag module (18) and comprises a horn switch means (42) located between the module housing (22) of the air bag module (18) and a support bracket (48) for attaching the module to a vehicle steering wheel. Pressing the module cover (16) causes a plurality of resilient polymeric separators (38) positioned between the module housing (22) and the support bracket (48) to be compressed, allowing protrusions (46) on the housing (22) to press and activate the switch means (42). This horn switch assembly permits servicing or replacement of the horn switches without exposing the internal components of the air bag module. <IMAGE>
