PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF POLYAMIDE FILAMENT YARN

adding 1-8 wt.% of heat- spinnable liquid crystal polymer, having excellent heat- stability and mechanical property, and which has the following formula, to polyamide polymer, e.g. nylon 6 or nylon 66, having relative viscosity in sulfuric acid (1 % solution of 96 % sulfuric acid at 25 deg.C) above 3.1; spinning with the speed of 200-1000 rpm; drawing and heat-treating. The method can prevent the pyrolysis of the nylon polymer during spinning process and makes the spinning of the high molecular weight polymer possible by using the heat-spinnable liquid crystal polymer.
