The conveyor for piece goods (3) incorporates a conveyor-belt (6) in the lengthwise direction of which is a bearing-strip (1) supporting the goods. There is a duct (4) in the centre for the conveyor belt. The belt rests on the bottom (5) of the duct and moves along in sections without touching the goods. The top of the belt facing the support-strip has thicker parts (7), made of chrome leather, of different heights and spaced out lengthwise for carrying the goods by means of frictional contact. A stop-piece on the strip is higher than the lower thick parts and lower than the higher thick parts.
