The invention relates to imidazole derivatives of general formula I <IMAGE> in which R1 represents hydrogen, a C1-C10 hydrocarbon radical or possibly substituted hetero-aryl or a cyclic ether radical, R2 represents hydrogen, halogen, an amino, nitro-azide, thiocyanate or cyano group which may be substituted, an alkyl radical with a straight or branched C1-C10 chain which may be substituted with halogen, or -OR1 where R1 has the above definitions and R2 may be present one or more times, and R1 and R2 represent together with an oxygen atom a saturated or unsaturated ring of 5 to 7 atoms which may also contain a further hetero atom, R3 represents hydrogen, an alkyl group with a straight or branched C1-C6 chain or an alkoxy alkyl group with C1-C4 in the alkoxy radical and C1-C2 in the alkyl radical, and R4 represents <IMAGE> or <IMAGE> in which R5 represents hydrogen, a C1-C6 alkyl group, a C3-C7 cycloalkyl group, a C1-C6 alkoxy group, an alkoxy alkyl group with C1-C4 in the alkoxy radical and C1-C2 in the alkyl radical, an alkoxy carbonyl group with C1-C6 in the alkoxy radical, a benzyl or phenyl group, and their addition salts to acids.
