The method involves detecting and evaluating sound of an activated siren for amplitude, frequency and duration of individual signals. The data are passed via a conventional remote control system to a command centre. The arrangement contains a microphone with a preamplifier in a weather-proof housing for mast mounting and an evaluation module. The evaluation module contains an amplifier adjustable for siren amplitudes between 80 and 130 dBA, a remote supply with cable length matching, a time unit with signal time adjustment from 5 to 30 seconds, a memory and a remote control interface passing a "siren has operated" signal to the remote controller. ADVANTAGE - Enables siren sounds to be evaluated for accuracy and siren operation detection signals to be passed to remote controller. Less administration required. False alarms rapidly detected, so that specific information is given.
