The control unit and control method of transmission gear and parking brake of a car comprises: (a) the controller controlling the act of transmission and parking brake; (b) the function selector selecting shifting gears and parking brake; (c) the decorder which commands to input the output signal to the controller by decording that of the function selector; (d) the transmission actuator driving unit shifting gears according to output signal of the controller; and (e) parking brake actuator driving unit which applies parking brake by acting the side brake actuator according to output signal of the controller.
