PURPOSE:To provide the silver halide color photographic sensitive material superior in sharpness, graininess, and color reproduction performance and freed of fluctuation of photographic characteristic during the lapse of time from the end of photographic to development by incorporating a specified compound having a photographically useful org. group in a silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide color photographic sensitive material contains in the emulsion layer at least one of the compounds represented by formula in which A is a coupler residue or a redox compound; X1 is 0 or S; X2 is 0, S, or =N(X6); W is C or S; each of X3-X6 is H or an organic group; and PUG is a photographically useful group. This compound has the bond between A and X1 cleft by reaction with the oxidation product of a developing agent and then the bond between W and N and finally that between C and PUG cleft, thus permitting PUG to be released.
