PURPOSE:To prevent a photosensitive drum and a transfer drum from being damaged by toner sticking to a non-image forming area on the photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:A 1st cleaning device 6A is arranged between the transfer drum 29 and an electrostatic charging device 21 and a 2nd cleaning device 6B is arranged between a developing roller 22a and the transfer drum 29 along the periphery of the photosensitive drum 9. As to the 1st cleaning device 6A, a 1st blade 6A is allowed to abut on an image forming area on the photosensitive drum 9 so as to remove residual toner in this area. Meanwhile, the 2nd cleaning device 6B is provided with a 2nd blade 61 abutting on the non-image forming area on the drum 9 so as to remove the toner in the non-image forming area on the drum 9 immediately after developing. Thus, the entire surface of the drum 9 is cleaned every time the drum 9 rotates once, and failure that the toner remaining on the drum 9 is transferred and stuck to the drum 29 is not caused. |
