<p>PURPOSE:To attain the miniaturization and high resolution by displaying three pictures comprising R, G, B color signals on a fluorescent face of a cathode ray tube so as to be arranged in the horizontal direction or vertical direction and synthesizing them into a color picture. CONSTITUTION:A cathode ray tube drive means 4 generates a signal used to drive a cathode ray tub 7 via horizontal and vertical deflection coils 5 and a flyback transformer from a signal subjected to time compression, and an electron beam emitted from a cathode of a cathode ray tube 7 strikes on a fluorescent face 8, on which three pictures 9a-9c are formed. Then an optical adder means 10 adds optically lights emitted from the patterns 9a-9c to synthesize them into one picture. Let the picture 9a be the one corresponding to an R signal, the pattern 9b be one corresponding to a G signal, and the pattern 9c be one corresponding to a B signal, then the red and green optical images are overlapped by a full reflection mirror 11 and an R reflection dichroic mirror, and similarly the three pictures are superposed by the mirror 12 and a B reflection dichroic mirror 15.</p> |
