Anti-vibration fairings for reservoirs on spacecraft launchers - using central fairings between two cylindrical reservoirs ring-clamped with spring-loaded tensioners and seal body fairings

The anti-vibration fairing carries two similar cylindrical accessories (20) on the spacecraft. Two end fairings are connected by central fairings (28,30a,30b), containing tensioning devices (34) for accessory clamps (32). At least three rings (32) clamp around each accessory, with tensioners (34) between these and adjacent accessories. The central fairing comprises two lateral deflectors (28), end fixed, with seals (58) against the spacecraft body. Complementary crossbeams (30a,30b) fasten by three tensioners (74), each with springing and a ring around the fastener. USE/ADVANTAGE - Space shuttle servo reservoirs, improving aerodynamics, rigidity and absorbing vibrations, with little weight penalty.
