PURPOSE:To provide the silver halide photographic infrared sensitive material stable in storage and free from residual dye stains after development processing by incorporating a specified dye. CONSTITUTION:This silver halide photographic sensitive material contains the photographic dye represented by one of formulae [Ia]-[Id] in which each of R<1>, R<2>, R<9>, and R10 is alkyl; each of Z<1>-Z<4> is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form an N-containing hetero ring; each of R<3>-R<6> and R<11>-R<14> is H, alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl; and each of R<7>, R<8>, R<15>, and R<16> is H, halogen, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, amino, or hydroxy. These dyes of formulae [Ia]-[Id] are added to the emulsifier in order to prevent irradiation and also to the reverse side of the support or between the support and an emulsifier, in order to prevent halation, and they are effective as a filter dye.
