PURPOSE:To provide communication nodes in which multiple access of a broadcast format is easily realized in a loop LAN employing the ATM communication system. CONSTITUTION:A multiple communication address and a usual address are identified from connection information of cells on a loop LAN. A multiple communication address identification circuit 100 and a communication address identification circuit 200 fetch a multiple communication address and a usual address addressed to its own cell into an internal reception buffer 300. An idle cell processing circuit 400 processes a relevant cell to be an idle cell in the case of the usual cell addressed to itself or the multiple communication address having been outputted precedingly to a loop by itself. A transmission section 20 receives a command from an idle cell/non-priority cell identification circuit 600 identifying whether a cell/on a loop is an idle cell or a non-priority cell and a cell insertion circuit 700 replaces a communication cell stored in a transmission buffer 500 with an idle cell (or non-priority cell) to insert a cell onto the loop.
