PURPOSE:To attain data collection requiring no parameter, the deletion of useless data transmission, and the reduction of the load of a device. CONSTITUTION:In a gateway device 1-m which is connected to a communication line 2, and simultaneously, to which one machine 3, at least, is connected, and which returns collected data to a requesting node when a read-out request is issued from another node, a raw data collecting means which transmits a data collection text to request information related to raw data and the changed parameter from the machine 3 to the machine 3 at prescribed periods, and collects the raw data from an answer text returned from the machine 3, and a parameter collecting means which checks the information related to the changed parameter from the answer text returned from the machine 3, and if the information purporting that the parameter was changed is registered previously, collects the changed parameter from the machine are provided.
