The tool according to the invention comprises a main thin, elongate, rigid body (1) curved inwards in the direction of its lentgh, thereby forming a convex contact surface (2). Two engaging devices (4, 5) hold the two ends of an abrasive strip (69) covering the contact surface (2) and the two ends (21, 22) of the tool. The inward curvature enables the tool to be held adjacent to one of its ends while its other end rests on a plane surface to be polished. The tool is for use in polishing or deburring any surface.
