The use of an effective amt. of one or more nonionic lipophilic (I) and/or ionic hydrophilic (II) derivs. of undecylenic or undecanoic acids in the mfr. of a medicament for the treatment of pedicular parasite infestations is new. Suitable nonionic derivs. (I) are esters of the acids, prepd. from 1-16C, pref. 1-6C, mono alcohols. Suitable ionic derivs. (II) of the acids are metal salts, esp. those of Zn, Cu, Na, Ca and K, the Na salt being esp. prefd. The amt. of (I) and/or (II) present in the compsns. is usually 2-20 wt.%. The compsns. are usually in liq. form, and contain suitable liq. diluents. When (I) is used, the solvent is pref. alcohol and/or acetone, a mixt. in the wt. ratio 30:70 to 70:30 being esp. pref.
