PURPOSE:To connect a terminal equipment to an exchange having any of digital and analog extension interfaces by discriminating the communication state with the exchange and selecting a communication procedure in matching with the respective interface. CONSTITUTION:Whether the interface mode of communication implemented at present is the 4-wire analog pushbutton telephone set interface mode or the 2-wire digital pushbutton telephone set interface mode is discriminated. Then the controller is provided with a data communication means with the 4-wire analog pushbutton telephone set interface and 2-wire digital pushbutton telephone set interface 136, 137 and a 1st signal line 133 is used for an analog voice signal, a digital voice signal and digital control data in common. Furthermore, a 2nd signal line 132 is used for control data communication for the 4-wire analog pushbutton telephone set. When each communication is established, the function is selected so as to offer the service to each telephone set to the radio terminal equipment 131.
