<p>PURPOSE:To allow the method to cope with even a multiple fault without increasing stored data quantity by selecting a pattern whose capacity is maximum among prepared relief patterns as a best pattern of a faulty path. CONSTITUTION:A relief pattern storage section 5 stores plural relief patterns depending on each path group or each path. A pattern extract section 6 reads sequentially a relief pattern of a designated faulty path from the relief pattern storage section 5. A pattern capacity calculation section 7 calculates Cp by equation based on number N of path groups forming the pattern and number Cv of standby paths not in use in the path groups v(v=1-N). A 1st pattern selection section 8 selects a relief pattern whose pattern capacity is maximum among the retrieval patterns of the faulty path as a best pattern and stores the best pattern. When plural faulty paths are in existence, all best patterns among current faulty paths are stored. A 2nd pattern selection section 9 selects a best pattern whose pattern capacity is maximum among the best patterns.</p> |
