PURPOSE:To detect the occurrence of an abnormal image in advance, to prevent miscopying or the deterioration of quality, and to rapidly compe with the abnormality of output from a high voltage power source so as to improve service by detecting the abnormality of the output from plural high voltage output means related to an image forming process and displaying a warning message. CONSTITUTION:When a copying start key is depressed first, copying actions are started and the high voltage output of a high voltage generation circuit 903 is made on. The high voltage is for a primary charger, a developing device, and a pretransfer charger, etc. Thereafter, the generation of a high output abnormality signal is monitored. The output from a current detection circuit 904 is inputted in an abnormality detection circuit 905, and the output abnormality signal is outputted to a controller in the case that a current equal to or above a secified current flows. When the high output abnormality signal is detected, the error message is outputted on a display, and the copying actions are forcibly finished. The error message includes not only a message informing of the occurrence of high voltage output abnormality but also a message informing of an abnormality occurring spot. |
