<p>PURPOSE:To decrease the processing time and to simplify the processing of alternate route setting by setting the alternate route through loopback setting. CONSTITUTION:The system is provided with a controller 11 having a CPU 10 and a memory 11, an ATM self-routing switch 2, and line controllers 30-33 accommodating plural lines and provided with header information conversion sections 4, 5. When a line 321 at a specific outgoing side is faulty, the line controller 32 connecting to the faulty outgoing line 321 realizes loopback by the hardware, and a normal line 331 is selected in place of the faulty line through the path connection similarly to the case with general connection using incoming and outgoing header information conversion sections from the line controller 32 connecting to the faulty line 321 to the line controller 33 connecting to the normal line 331. That is, the line controllers to rewrite the conversion tables of the header information conversion sections 4, 5 are limited to the line controller 32 accommodating the faulty route and the line controller 33 accommodating the alternate route.</p> |
