Manufacture of a fire-screening glazing consisting of two glass sheets held at a distance by a leakproof peripheral insert frame, between which sheets has been introduced an aqueous solution containing a dissolved salt and a gelling agent. <??>After filling, the solution turns to an aqueous gel in which the aqueous phase contains the salt in solution and in which the solid phase is a polymer. The gelling polymer is a crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol. A dialdehyde is employed as crosslinking agent.
