PURPOSE:To detect a drooping appearing in a picture in a very short time by analyzing only picture data of a part from which occurrence of the drooping is expected in the picture of an exclusive chart. CONSTITUTION:Digital picture data of a video image by a video camera are binarized by a binarizing converter 5 in a read area designation section 5 and stored in a binary memory 52. A pattern read start point and end point calculation section 54 compares binary picture data stored in the binary memory 52 with binarized standard pattern data stored in a matching memory 53 to detect a center position of two circular holes 81,82 and five areas on a contour line on a bottom side of a comb-line pattern 80 are calculated based thereon. A computer section 6 reads only digital picture data at an address corresponding to the five areas from a digital picture memory 4, analyzes whether or not data representing a prescribed quantity or over are in existence regardless of a location at the outside of the comb-line pattern thereby discriminating the presence of occurrence of drooping. Object areas for the analysis are limited, resulting that the analysis operation of the computer section 6 is much reduced. |
