PURPOSE:To ensure high performance of an optical semiconductor device, simplify a driving circuit, eliminate the need of a fine adjustment, and stabilize the device. CONSTITUTION:Independently separated first and second junctions A1, A2, and B1, B2 are provided vertically on a substrate 10, which junctions share an active region in a junction part or in part of the same. Hereby, the second junctions B1, B2 are adapted to drive a device while the first junctions A1, A2 are adapted to control the device.
