A method for manufacturing a multi-layer plastic film (composite film) for packaging purposes provides for strip-like edge regions of the cover film to be excluded from the bonding to the carrier film and to be cut off in a final processing operation. These strip-like edge regions serve, in processing stations, in general for transport purposes in conjunction with transport chains or the like. In the production of packaging, these edges strips are cut off and consequently are waste. By the method according to the invention, it is ensured that these edge strips are only single-layered and thus, by contrast with composite films, can be simply disposed of or can be fed to recycling processes.
