The method involves voluntary or involuntary skin contact between the person and a semiconductive element of the vehicle either during or shortly after the person leaves the vehicle. The semiconductive element is conductively connected to the bar body. Alternatively an imperceptible discharge occurs through an active or passive ionisation device in the area of the door. USE/ADVANTAGE - Protects person from spark discharge or alighting from motor vehicle by creating potential equalisation without loaded spark discharge occuring.
