Root resistant bituminous sealing strip, with good flexibility

Root-resistant bituminous sealing webs are comprised of a flat fabric web with a uniform coating of vacuum deposited Cu on at least one surface, and coated on one or both sides with a bituminous material. The base web may be a synthetic fibre or glass fibre fabric web e.g. with a base wt. of 50-300 g/m2 and coated with 0.1-100 g/m2, esp. 0.1-5 g/m2 vacuum deposited Cu. After coating with the bitumen compsn., the surface of the web may be sprinkled with talc, sand or granular material or a release film e.g. of siliconised paper applied.
