<p>The invention relates to an optical fibre cable comprising one or more fibre ribbons (2) consisting of a plurality of optical fibres positioned side by side, the fibre ribbons being arranged into a stack (1); and a protective element (3) comprising a cavity (4) substantially rectangular in cross-section and surrounding the stack (1) of fibre ribbons, the stack (1) of fibre ribbons being arranged to run in the cavity (4) in a wavelike manner in the longitudinal direction of the fibre ribbons. In the invention, to avoid problems associated with the production of the protective element surrounding the stack of fibre ribbons, the protective element (3) comprises at least one prefabricated profile part (5) defining a trough space (4) for the stack (1) of fibre ribbons; and a surface forming the bottom of the trough space (4) of the profile part is corrugated in the longitudinal direction of the trough.</p> |
