The machine has an IC engine for driving the tool provided with a manually adjustable setting lever coupled to a power regulator for the engine. A rev display (8) is used to indicate the actual engine revs corresponding to the setting of the regulator. The display has different display zones (A,B,C) one of which corresponds to operation of the engine with good exhaust emission and noise output levels with normal tool operation. Pref. an initial zone indicates that the tool is not operated efficiently and an end zone indicates that the engine is operating outside its optimum efficiency range. ADVANTAGE - Provides direct visual indication of engine revs and tool efficiency for operator.
