<p>The invention relates to a device for firmly gripping the wood logs in order to cut them comfortably and safely with a motor chain saw. The saw-bench is comprised of clips or jaws (1 and 2) hinged and arranged at the upper part of the device, and intended to grip the logs to be cut. Two intermediary supports (3) and two rods (4) connect the jaws to the base (12), while allowing the jaws to oscillate. When the user places the logs in order to cut them, between the jaws of the device, the mass or weight of the logs causes the jaws to close and clamp the logs firmly while preventing any displacement or rotation which could be particularly dangerous for the user actuating the motor chain saw. With such device, the user has both hands (and both feet) totally free and may devote all his attention to the operation of the motor chain saw, in safe conditions. An alternating embodiment of the device makes it even safer: it is comprised of a pedal (25), a rod (21) and a rack (22) which block the jaws in a closed position on the logs to be cut. The device according to the invention is particularly intended to motor chain saw users which operate such a motor driven saw to cut logs for heating purposes.</p> |
