The region monitoring method involves superimposing a point pattern on the monitored region and a CW radar system arranged at each point. At least three points form corner points of a polygonal cell.At least the radar systems arranged at the corner points are networked via an evaluation unit. The separation of the points and the operating characteristics of the radar systems are selected according to the required detection characteristics.
