Flash light source with ultra short flash period for high-speed colour photography - has number of hybrid arc path stages consisting of creep spare paths in series with arcing paths

The flash generator has a number of charge resistors (5), capacitors (4) and arc paths (2). For uniform charging of the capacitors, the stages are connected between a pair of voltage supply lines. Each arc path is in series with a creep spark path (3) that has a parallel resistor (9) for stabilisation purposes. The combination of the arc path and the creep spark paths forms a hybrid arc path (1). A number of hybrid arc path units are arranged as radial elements to form a multi-stage flash light unit. USE/ADVANTAGE - Increased lighting intensity. Reduced flash period. Used for high speed colour photography.
