The installation contains conveyors for component feed, handling covers, eyelets, rivets etc. A transporter moves flat, plate-shaped covers (D) from an inlet station (F1) with a magazine up to the discharge station (FX), on edge, pref. their later standing edge (DS). The covers on edge are moved through working stations (F2,3) in cooperation with a positioner (P). The individual work station have a central drive (A) and control (C), with the drive coupled to the individual stations (F1-Fx) by a coupling position each.
