The cover is height-adjustable at its rear end, this movement and the sliding movement being by a common driving cable guided so as to be rigid under thrust load. The adjusting lever (26) is mounted on a slide (16) moved in the car's lengthwise direction by the spiral driving cable when the cover (12) slides and the opposite way to the thrusting mechanism with lifting guide. There can be a slide, lever and guide at each side of the cover, these being gear-driven by a common electric motor via spiral cables rotating in opposite directions.
