A cable clip for fastening cables in a car to hollow-section girders or rails is made from extruded aluminium, or similar material. The clip is shaped like a C with an open-sided cable channel on one side of the clip. This channel is stepped so that its width is progressively larger towards its opening. Each step has inclined end faces to provide a cable support and a retainer, so that a tier of several parallel cables of increasing diameter is held snugly. The clip has short ridges on its inside to grip the girder. The width of the clip is between 29.5 and 37 mm and the wall thickness of the cable channel is between 1 and 2 mm.
