The insert has a plate-shaped upper part (2) on which the teeth of the upper jaw locate, and a similarly shaped lower part (4) which covers the teeth of the lower jaw. The upper and lower parts are joined to one another in the region of the back teeth. A projection (8) is provided under the lower part for fixing the mouth insert inside the teeth of the lower jaw. The insert is of one piece construction of a porous material which can receive a fluid or paste which emits a gas or a vapour which superimposes, reduces or neutralises mouth odour.
