The invention relates to a method and an apparatus in which a film (14) of a thermofusible adhesive composition is enclosed between the cavity of the mould and the margins of the upper which are intended to be welded onto the sole. In the method according to the invention, the film (14) is brought over the entrance of the moulding cavity (1) or over the welding margins of the upper which is mounted on a last and it is deposited without human intervention in at least two stages so as to cover over all the opening of the cavity or the welding margins in their entirety.
