The invention relates to a device for connecting cable cores (8) to insulation-piercing terminal contacts of drop-wire connecting strips (2) used in telecommunications, by means of a pressing-in tool (3) which is provided with guiding and pressing-in webs (9, 10) and an operating surface. In order to make it possible to connect a drop-wire cable core (8) having a thick insulating material sleeve to a switching terminal contact on the drop-wire connecting strip (2), in a single operation, the operating surfaces of the pressing-in tool (3) are constructed as an engaging body (11), which is directly connected to the guiding and pressing-in webs (9, 10), for an impact or lever tool, especially a screwdriver (4). By applying an impact or lever force to the pressing-in tool (3), it is thus possible to connect a drop-wire cable core (8) to an insulation-piercing terminal contact of a drop-wire connection strip (2) in a single operation.
